This was a commercial concrete slab that required a higher level of preparation and planning than typical residential work. From the start, the team identified that moisture mitigation was necessary and that the slab condition would directly impact long-term performance. Key elements of the project included: – Roughly 2,000 sq ft of floor area – Flake epoxy system – Moisture barrier application – Commercial-scale prep and installation methods This project reinforced how critical it is to match materials and process to the environment.

Preparation & Installation

We put a lot of attention into surface prep, because in commercial spaces, that’s where most flooring problems start when corners get cut. Before any coating went down, the slab was fully ground, cleaned, and evaluated to make sure it was truly ready. Moisture mitigation was also a critical part of this install. Rather than skipping that step or dialing it back, we followed the proper process to address moisture in the concrete before applying the epoxy and flake system. Taking the time to do it this way helped ensure the floor was built correctly from the start.
